INCU FASHION WEEK WRAP

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week has come and gone once more and Incu's womens wear buyers, Tara D'cruz-Noble and Laeticia Masselos, were in attendance. Scroll down for their fashion week low down as well as a preview of what is to come in store.

DAY ONE

The Friedrich Gray show was a dramatic start to Australian Fashion Week with models emerging from smoke at the UTS Atrium Building. True to form designer Ben Pollit's latest collection, was dark and moody with an occasional injection of colour- this season it was splashes of orange and blue. Exposed industrial zips were employed, as were long draped silhouettes and contrasting panels of leather, chiffon and jersey. Standout pieces: patchwork leggings, leather jackets and the digital print dresses.

DAY TWO

Neutral tones interspersed with coral, lilac and black filled Therese Rawsthorne's latest ethereal offering. Opposite forces were at play - strong futuristic silhouettes, coupled with delicate sheer fabrics and billowing shapes. Come summertime every girl will need one of these beautifully simple shirt dresses in their wardrobe. This is the first season we will be stocking Therese Rawsthorne, we hope you are as excited as us!

Later that day, Birthday Suit's new collection fused together muses Frida Kahlo and Madonna for an extravagant performance show. Think carnivalesque colour, 80s rah-rah skirts and er... monobrows. Highlight pieces included a full-length catsuit adorned with a collaged floral and cheetah print as well as puffed-sleeved prom style dresses.

DAY THREE

Antipodium was a fun, refreshing show which had tattooed, curvaceous 'real girls' sharing the catwalk with the models. The collection had a real 90's feel with bleached denim, floral tapestry fabric and sheer black lace, all styled with platform Dr Martens. Titled 'Totally Tarot' featured cute tarot print skirts featured in forest prints and bright splashes of fuchsia.

DAY FOUR

TV's Monika Tywanek and Ingrid Verner unfailingly always manage to side-step fashion trends and create a bold, unique collection. Military inspired silhouettes were mixed with earthy coloured fabrics in khaki, rust and cream. We love the delicate lattice shapes cut into bodysuits, bike shorts and dresses as well as the sheer fabric dress infused with iridescent gold and blue. Bring on summer...

DAY FIVE

Romance Was Born's otherworldly fantasy filled show at The Sydney Theatre Company was a visual feast for the eyes. An underwater tea party took place first thing in the morning, complete with cup cake coloured dresses, doily capes and deliciously high heels encrusted with seashells. We'll be dreaming of the blue tulle tiered skirt, the scalloped shaped bolero and the sweet little romper suit printed with oysters and pearls.
