CITY OF ANGELS

I recently returned for an internship in LA with our friends and socially conscious designers, Apolis Activism. For those who have never been to LA, it is a inconveniently spread out city that can be overwhelming without inside knowledge. For that reason, I thought I would provide three quick tips for would be trans Atlantic punters:

  1. Inteligencia: I found there to be a comparatively low level of espresso literacy in LA. However, these shops are a noted exception. Running numerous fancy machines manned by well versed baristas, these cafes are a great place to sit and observe some LA hipsters

  2. Trader Joe’s: If you are feeling weighed down after a few to many trips to In and Out or cups of peanut butter frozen yogurt, Trader Joes (or TJs) is the place to go grab some good living. These mini organic super stores have all the biodynamic mung beans and organic versions of American food excess you could ever want.

  3. Wurstkuche: Situated on the nicest street in the art’s district, this is arguably one of the best hotdogs I have ever had. They have a massive selection to pick from including rattlesnake and rubbed sage veggie dogs that taste scarily like meat. They also offer a number of dangerously good German beers.
